The Fashionable Photographer | A "Must Have" Accessory

I am taking a quick break from all the wedding and bridal blogs to write about something near to my heart, photography and fashion. For all you lady photogs out there, what options do we have for carrying our gear around while still looking feminine and professional? Not only do we need to carry our camera lenses, but also the basic necessities like lip gloss, Kleenex, compact, cell phone, etc. I don't know about you, but toting a black or grey backpack around is not my style. My husband, well fiance at the time, purchased me a SHOOTSAC for my birthday...

Christmas Memories of 2011

It’s so hard to believe Christmas has come and gone. Why must it always go by so fast every year? For me, Christmas is the time I finally get to see my entire family get together in NH. Baltimore, Maryland - Candy, Sharks and Mexican Food

This month has been full of road trips! Last week, since my husband had IT work in Baltimore, he decided to take me along!   Where We Stayed: Courtyard Fort Meade at National Business Park This hotel was perfect for the traveling business man or woman. The room was open and well lit. It included complimentary Wi-Fi and a bathroom larger than we have at home! I spent several hours in the business center studying marketing and catching up on my social media. In the lobby there is a GoBoard; a touch screen computer that has information on the weather, local...

Hurricane Irene and the Roanoke Adventure: Part 2

While staying in Roanoke during Hurricane Irene, we noticed a large lit star on the top of a mountain. We asked a few locals and learned that it was the Mill Mountain Star. Roanoke is known as the “Star City of the South”. The star was built in 1949 and considered to be the “World’s Largest Man-made Illuminated Star”.   The star initially was illuminated in all white. As part of the bicentennial celebration in 1976, the stars design was changed to a bright red, white and blue at night. Unfortunately, we visited the star during the day and the 2000 feet...

Cape Henry Lighthouse at Fort Story

For a mid-summers day in July, the weather was balmy with minimum humidity. Exactly how summer should be in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I decided to take a trip out to the Cape Henry Lighthouse to see if it would be a potential location for engagement portraits. The lighthouse is one of many historical sites in Virginia.    The trip began with a small adventure. The Google search for the lighthouse gave me the address of 583 Atlantic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA. My GPS sent me to the opposite end of Virginia Beach near 6th Street. After 3 U-turns, I finally found...
