Gluten Free Friday | Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies
I recently met a new Twitter friend and she just happens to live near me! With over 175 million users on Twitter, I always get a bit giddy when I actually connect with someone who is local to me. @Alyce4Him has a blog called Pots on the Stove where she shares recipes and stories about her life. Her last blog post was for a gluten free recipe of Chewy Jumbo Chocolate Chip Cookies. Could it be true? A gluten free cookie that was not only large, but chewy??! I had to find out for myself.

Getting A Start On the Holiday Baking: Gluten Free Gingerbread Cookies
With October over, I felt I wanted to start enjoying the upcoming holidays. My favorite part of the holidays is baking and making gifts. The holidays last year weren't quite the same as all my favorite recipes were not gluten free and I didn't have alternatives. This year I am starting early and testing out recipes before Christmas.
My first recipe is for Gingerbread Cookies. The initial recipe I found on the back of Pamela’s Gluten Free Bread Mix and I tweaked it a bit more to my liking. I used more seasonal cookie cutters and decorated them myself. Here’s...

Washington, DC Daycation
For months, my husband and I have been talking about visiting D.C. Finally, a business trip brought us close to the city and gave us an excuse to spend two nights there.
Where we stayed: The George Washington University Inn
A small inn located in the prestigious residential neighborhood of historic Foggy Bottom. Our room/suite was spacious and even included a kitchenette. This came in handy as there weren’t many gluten free restaurants close by. We were able to run to the local Whole Foods Market to pick up meals to cook on our own!

Gluten Free Honey Chicken Kabobs
With the summer coming to a close, we are trying to grill out as often as we can. We even ran out of gas this week! It never seems to happen at a good time, but for once, we ran out just as our bison meat was finishing. I found a recipe at the beginning of the summer on The Baking Beauties blog for Honey Chicken Kabobs that I have been dieing to make myself. They were well worth the wait!
Ingredients:
1/4 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup GF soy sauce 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
8 skinless,...

Gluten Free Banana Muffins
It happens every week. My husband and I are dedicated to an accelerated weight and cardio workout regimen so I try to always have bananas around the house to help ward off muscle cramps. If you work out heavily and have low levels of potassium or calcium, bananas, orange juice, avocados, tomatoes, Lima beans, potatoes, cod, salmon, flounder and other citrus fruits are quite helpful. Anyhow, I digress from my initial point. I can never seem to pick the right bunch of bananas. They ripen too fast or aren't ripe enough in time and don't get eaten. I am always looking for recipes that include...

Potatoe Salad: Our First Summer BBQ
My husband and I are getting started a little late with the bbq season. Friday is Mr. Adam's 31st birthday and to celebrate, we are having about 16 guests over for food and fun. I can't believe we have waited half the summer to do this! Today, we spent the day cleaning the house, weeding the garden, cutting the grass, hanging curtains and any last minute house chores.
This afternoon, I decided to make my very first gluten free potato salad. I based my recipe off of one I found on the Food Network's website. It looks and smells wonderful! My husband...

Cake Is For Sharing
One of my biggest motivators to cook or bake is social gatherings. Last night, my husband and I had the chance to meet with our wedding photographer and his wife plus their 3 children. We all live very busy lives and it can be months before we get to see each other again. So our reunions are always sweet and we have a great time talking photography, business, church and life, all with a bit of humor attached.
I'm sure others have experienced this, but having celiac disease makes it difficult to be spontaneous with friends and family. Whenever food...

Gluten-Free Baking: The Search For White Bread
Today I was feeling extra domestic. It may have been the fact that my hubby was home sick on the coach with a cold or because my stomach couldn’t decide what it was craving. Either way, I spent the entire day in the kitchen baking and cooking.
As many of you know, I have celiac disease. This makes baking quite interesting as it usually involves additional ingredients and effort. Lately, I’ve been in search of the perfect bread for sandwiches. I’ve purchased many from the grocery store and all have failed me! Most bread dry up within 5 minutes...
